NexusCompress · Redact Emirates ID & passport scans
UAE residents often share ID and passport copies with employers, landlords, and agencies. The Secure Document Redactor blacks out sensitive fields in your browser — your files never leave your device.
What to redact
- Emirates ID number and UID
- Date of birth
- Passport number and MRZ lines (machine-readable zone)
- Bank account / IBAN on statements
- Tenant or landlord ID numbers on tenancy contracts
Keep your name and photo visible when the recipient needs to confirm identity.
Black fill vs blur
Always use black fill for passport numbers, ID numbers, and MRZ lines. Blur can sometimes be reversed with image-processing tools; black fill permanently replaces pixel data in the exported file.
How to redact locally
- Open Document Redactor.
- Upload JPEG, PNG, or PDF (first page at 150 DPI).
- Draw boxes or use UAE document presets (Emirates ID front/back, passport, visa, tenancy, bank).
- Export JPEG or PNG; optionally compress under 200 KB or 500 KB for portal uploads.
Frequently asked questions
What information should I redact on my Emirates ID?
Consider redacting your ID number, date of birth, and MRZ lines on the back when sharing with landlords or employers. Keep your name and photo visible for verification.
Is blur redaction secure?
Black fill is more secure than blur. Blurred text can sometimes be partially recovered. Use black fill for numbers and MRZ lines.
Does this tool upload my documents?
No. Redaction uses the Canvas API entirely in your browser. Documents are never sent to any server.
